My entry for the Seventh Sanctum "Evil and Company" art contest. (www.seventhsanctum.com/contests.php)
My prompts were "Greenthunder the Berserk" from the Evil Name Generator, and "Storm Children of Iharsh-Daraz" from the Dark Minion Generator.
The given name of Greenthunder the Berserk is no longer even whispered, but once upon a time she was a righteous demon-slayer, famed across a whole continent for her ferocity in battle against the forces of evil. She challenged and defeated Ene'tami, the mightiest of the quartet of demonesses known as the Storm Children of Iharsh-Daraz. After this epic battle, the surviving Storm Children withdrew to their corner of the Lower Planes, fearing that they would share their sister's bloody fate. But Greenthunder had taken a terrible wound in the struggle, one sure to take her eye and leave a dreadful scar. Alas, that was not the worst of it. As the outward injury healed, the supernatural poison of Ene'tami's jagged claws coursed through her veins, slowly twisting her into a being of great cruelty, making her a shell for a vile rage that would have easily consumed a lesser mortal. Greenthunder went on as she had done before, but where she had once been a warm and inspiring leader, she was now only sinister and intimidating. The throngs of volunteers who had once rallied to her emerald banner, eager to join in her quests, slowly dwindled. Kings and queens no longer sent for her to cleanse their lands. As her temper grew more and more violent, she turned to torturing animals to vent it, followed by humans, hacking them apart with her axe or rending their flesh with her bare hands, and all while they still lived. As she sank into madness, she began to adorn herself with the bones and teeth of her kills. Worse still, she took it into her envenomed mind to summon her old enemies from their Abyssal haunt. In a flash of lightning, the three remaining Storm Children appeared before her, fearing that she would finish what she had started with their eldest and strongest sister. But then they saw Ene'tami's wrath blazing in her remaining eye, and they gladly bowed before her, called her their queen, and agreed to wreak their destruction in the name of Greenthunder in exchange for the opportunity to remain in this mortal world. Their fear of the demon-slayer has not yet died, though she herself has suffered a fate arguably much worse than death.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
